Sew a "Busy Bag" for an Eldercare Patient

Open Opportunity

About

You can volunteer from home to help cut and package Helpertunity's popular "Busy Bag" Sew-Up Kits, or sew an entire Busy Bag yourself from the pattern links provided below.  With Helpertunity, you can volunteer from the comfort of your own home, or gather some friends together and host a volunteer meet-up at your local sewing studio or sewing guild!  Experienced sewists report that they typically spend two to three hours crafting each unique handmade Helpertunity Busy Bag.  Adding drawstrings and embellishments is always optional, but we do remind volunteers to leave one end of the bag open so that it can be turned and washed inside-out by eldercare facility staff.

Not interested in sewing?  Consider gathering items to fill the donated Helpertunity Busy Bags, including large print puzzle books or puzzle pages, easy coloring books or coloring pages, pens, colored pencils, large-print playing cards, tissue packs, emory boards, nail polish, perfumes, chapsticks, and small hand lotions.
